Pre Registration for the 2011 event will close this Friday, September 23rd at 6pm. At which time the last display pre-registration passes will be sent out.

This dosn't mean you cannot turn up on the day by any means, but it dose mean that you won't have any preference for a place in the dispay area.

I am happy to report Paul Buckett - head of Press and PR for Volkswagen UK will be joining us again this weekend - and bringing some friends, and some very nice cars too. We're promised somthing special.

There are however more special guests promised...

Seventy or sow passes later the majority of the Display Passes have gone out to the Volkswagen owners who have registered their cars for the display. If however you havent pre-registered or if you havent received your pass for any reason - DON'T PANIC! We won't turn you away at the gate!

I will of course carry on sending out passes until Friday 23rd September but just in case - the good gentlemen of the Historic Volkswagen club will be available to help get the right cars to the right place.

In the next week or so I’ll be emailing display passes to those of you who have registered for the show.

As last year the passes will be emailed out for you to print and display in your windscreens and again there are clear local directions to the Arborfield Garrison.

If by any chance you forget your pass, we’ll have a list on the day.

Late last night we received the proof copy of this years event pennant sticker. In the same green as Maj. Ivan Hirst's model VW Beetle and made by the same printers as last years stickers. A collectors edition!

Today's meeting with the good people of the REME Museum was a mixture of good and bad news. In the best traditions of these matters, bad news first.

The REME Museum, the hosts of the Maj. Ivan Hirst Volkswagen show, are being removed from the Arborfiled garrison, their long time home, and their archives, including a lot of Volkswagen history will be unavailable to the public - possible for many years to come.

The Defence Spending Review recently announced by government means that this will be the last Volkswagen show at Maj Hirst's regimental home before the Museum is closed.

Thanks to the support from our friends at Colborne Garages the promotion of this years event is going well – in fact at this point we have as many classic Volkswagens registered for the show as we had one week before last years event.
